/dev/video0 doesn't exist

Ok, so I followed this wiki: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Webcam_Setup to get my webcam set up. Followed all of the instructions but after I did all that I found out that /dev/video0 doesn't exist.

Is there a reason for this? How can I make /dev/video0 exist?

I'm using the Ricoh driver on a hp Pavillion laptop with a webcam sitting just above my screen. Any suggestions?
