I've been thinking about making a system rescue CD (or DVD) with larch to ease my life when someone gives me a computer with an interesting and difficult problem they have somehow created. I was thinking of including:
* X.org
* Openbox
* Feh
* PCManFM
* Gparted
* NetworkManager
* Sakura
* Galculator
* Recorder
* Grub
* Memtest86+
* Gedit (and plugins)
* Opera
* ClamAV
* FileZilla
* Samba
* hwinfo
Have I forgot anything obvious? Also, I was wondering if memtest86+ would work from a LiveCD - memtest writes data to all of the RAM to find problems, yet the entire system will be loaded into RAM, I admit I don't know much about how either a LiveCD or memtest works, but I imagine that could be a problem.

In case you didn't know, a system rescue CD distro already exists: http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distri … stemrescue
Otherwise, if you did already know, then make sure there is NTFS support and tools to go with it as they can be very useful.

I did know, but thought it would be much more fun to make my own. What's the fun in using a prebuilt solution?

I guess we wouldn't be using arch if we wanted prebuilt solutions. Arch FTW!
Also, if you can get the system to run without the CD (eject support), some DVD burning software might be useful (to backup data).
