make certain windows ignore margins in openbox

Here's the situation:

I have set up 35px margins at the top and bottom. The bottom is filled with visibility and stalonetray and the top is where a one-line conky resides.

Now, visibility and stalonetray stay in the above layer (above all other apps) but conky doesn't since it's window type is 'desktop'. And yes, I do have a rule in rc.xml saying conky should be in the above layer. It just doesn't work obviously.
If I change conky's window type to normal it will stay above all apps but openbox applies the margin limitations to it (this I don't want).

So.....any suggestions ?

I think i'm having trouble understanding the problem. How does it differ from my thread here http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=

If conky resides in the top margin then why are other apps going over it?
