Partition USB key

I just did a FTP install with usb key with 2008.04RC images. I used dd to put the image on my usb key. The problem is that its size is now 370 MO (size of the image).

I want to repartition it but both cfdisk and fdisk are unable to change partitions. I did :

cfdisk /dev/sdb

And I get :  ERREUR FATALE: Ne peut ouvrir l'unité de disque
(FATAL ERROR : Can't open disk unit)

Any idea smile ?

Re: Partition USB key

Are you sure that the usb key isn't mounted? If that isn't the case then use "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb" (remember to make backups) and try again.

Re: Partition USB key

Hey thx for the answer smile !

In fact the problem was that I tried to execute cfdisk as normal user (non-root). I thought about it thanks to your answer (dd did not work as normal user).

sudo solved it ! I'm glad I posted it in Newbie forum (I hesitated tongue)...
