upgrade error with libnewt

Just tried a pacman -Syu and I received the following:

checking package integrity...
(13/13) checking for file conflicts [#####################] 100%
error: could not prepare transaction
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
libnewt: /usr/lib/libnewt.so.0.52 exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

Think it's safe just to rm libnewt.so.0.52 or maybe just force the upgrade?

Thanks for the input.

Re: upgrade error with libnewt

I run "pacman -Qo /usr/lib/libnewt.so.0.52" first to make sure this isn't a conflict with another package (seems unlikely and pacman will say so anyway...).  If it says  "error: No package owns /usr/lib/libnewt.so.0.52" then you a perfectly safe forcing it.
