Gutenprint 5.[12] betas (Canon IP4500)

I own a Canon IP4500 and would love to make the same quality photoprints as from XP (which I dualboot to exactly for this reason only). I see that the upcoming 5.1 and 5.2 series of Gutenprint has some extended support for this printer. Is there any easy way to install eg. 5.2.0beta2 to Arch? Are there any other known ways to get this printer work properly (without buying into Turboprint or getting limited to 600dpi)?

Try using ABS.

I once got a driver package together for my ip3500. If i remember right, its a mixture of packages from the Canon Software Center and the japanese canon ftp site. I'll check that and try to rebuild and test it (i never really tested the package for my own printer on arch). Im sure the same PKGBUILD would work for your ip4500, too.
