I've noticed this too....it's a bummer.

Anyone have any suggestions ?

Re: problem new gnome-settings-daemon

I found the solution.

1. Run gconf-editor
2. Go to apps/gnome_settings_daemon/plugins/background
3. Uncheck active

Re: problem new gnome-settings-daemon

Maybe it is started with GDM....perhaps you can fiddle with GDM options to disable it somewhere....

Re: problem new gnome-settings-daemon

I don't know i've also put the # before exec gnome-session in the .xinitrc file but it always loads the gnome-settings-daemon at the startup...

Re: problem new gnome-settings-daemon

thanks moljac024 I've resolved this issue just comment the first line in the autostart.sh file, (. $GLOBALAUTOSTART) and so the start of openbox session doesn't load the gnome-settings-daemon smile
