Openbox freezes with 100% CPU

Ok....gotta weird problem here. Switched to openbox recently, and now when I start it up, it usually comes boots up into a mostly frozen openbox desktop with CPU at 100%. I can tell because conky is actually able to startup and I can see the CPU usage. If I restart X and the computer a couple times, I'll eventually get into openbox with no problems, but it's really annoying. any ideas?

Re: Openbox freezes with 100% CPU

i would comment out everything in xinitrc besides urxvt -e top & and exec openbox  and see if that can start so you can see whats using the cpu.

Re: Openbox freezes with 100% CPU

well yeah I can just use ctrl+alt+F1 to get to a console and use top. It's the 'openbox' process
