after update nvidia xorg wont run

first i installed arch, then nvidia drivers 100.14.19 manually, not through pacman
then i did full upgrade pacman -Syu
after this startx gives error:

"Failed to load NVIDIA kernel module!"
"Aborting"
"Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration."

sry had to type it manually since i dont know how to copy from vi and paste elsewhere

i read on arch wiki this- "Kernel update: Kernel updates will require reinstalling the driver. A workaround is available"
but this workaround- when i enter module name (nvidia) in rc.conf file under modules section does not work, on sytem startup it says- "fatal error, could not load module"
i cant reinstall the 100.14.19 driver manually, it gives error (i use this driver because games werent working with latest nvidia driver, i have fx5200 card)
tried nvidia-xconfig and put the file in /etc/x11/xorg.conf and no results

any suggestions?
also bless me how to copy/paste from vi or suggest a gui editor

i have fx5200 card

I have the the same card in my laptop and the new nvidia driver doesn't work with this card.  This is a known issue, and there is no solution to it other than to use the older driver -- nvidia doesn't expect a quick resolution, you'll probably need to wait until the next driver is released...

the driver worked great, under arch- i tested it running quake3 and under slackware, same driver, same card (desktop pc). after update it messed up on arch though. oh yea- 100.14.19 is a "older driver", like i wrote, game would give error on startup with latest 16x driver or so, dont remember the exact version

Sorry -- I didn't read carefully enough; maybe you need to reboot after installing the nvidia driver...

i did reboot. now using xorg.conf.backup, which is mesa

I think (correct me if i'm wrong) that something is wrong with nvidia drivers and kernel in repositories.
If I wait long enough, will problem be solved (new, corrected  version of drivers in repos...)?
After that I only do one 'pacman -Syu' and everything come to the right place?

I did a makepkg on nvidia and nvidia-utils modules (get them from abs), with the 173.14.09 version, and it works again on my laptop.

Meanwhile I installed nvidia drivers from official installer (from nvidia's site).

If I upgrade system, can I expect some problems?
