Hello,
OK so I have this server, and whenever i try to scp a large file (~1GB) onto it, it locks up hard anywhere from 3-80%. No ping, ssh, keyboard, the framebuffer even locks up.
It's an old intel 440bx board(tyan tiger 100 1832DL to be exact) w/ dual PII Deschutes processors @ 400mhz. Currently it has 128mb ram because I want to be sure it's not a ram conflict of some kind.
Things I've done:
-tested the single stick w/ memtest86+, passed about 12 runs
-swapped the hard drive
-swapped the nic (same module 8139too though)
-swapped the ide cable
-swapped the video card (!)
-went through every single BIOS setting w/ the manual
-dd'd 28GB worth of /dev/zero to a hard drive on the second ide channel
-checked for IRQ conflicts
-done cpu-burn etc. temperature never went above 48C
I'm just about to swap the power supply, but I've been at this for over a week now and getting kind of burnt out. I was just wondering if there were any knowledgeable people here who might know what's going on?
Is it just a bad board? If not, is it going to die soon anyway?
I'm thinking it might be a PCI (or southbridge) problem, but I'm not really sure where to go from here.
logs don't show much either :(
thank you!

Maybe transfer a file using something else like FTP too rule out if it's software or hardware related.

I just tried ftp'ing the file and the server crashed within 3 seconds... :(
update: it wasn't the power supply.
