Just learning the ropes on DVD burning so am not familiar with the setups and not much in the forums .

Any help is appreciated.

this will give you probably more than you need to know.

also i notice you have udf as the filetype for your dvd burner. i don't think that is necessary unless you have udf enabled in your kernel i usually just use the iso one that is used for the cdrom.

Re: Attempting DVD iso write of 2.1 GB iso file: error(Solved)

Pleased to hear from you on this subject, and received the reference material which is quite extensive.

Be advised that I tried iso9660 first and the Dvd drive would not eject.  It ejects in udf but I am sure now that udf is not enabled in the kernel.  It seems it requires changes in addition to being enabled.

Don't have any idea why it won't eject in iso9660....

Re: Attempting DVD iso write of 2.1 GB iso file: error(Solved)

Problem has been solved, however weirdly!

I re-installed the DVD unit as an iso9660 and also used IGNORE in the write speed selection in k3b.  It produced the 2.1 GB iso source very nicely on a dvd+rw disc.

It also booted the system into knoppix 3.4 (Kernel 2.4.25, cebit version).

I also copied the Knoppix LiveCD of 687MB (not the iso image) onto another dvd+rw so as to use the optional 2.6 kernel in that boot-up.  I had to use IGNORE there also.

It boots OK as well.

great! good job. i hope that reference i posted helps you out in the future. i use dvd+rw-tools via the commandline but using k3b is just fine but at least youwill have a better understanding of options it uses should problems arise in the future.

good work on finding the solution!
