I hope this is the right place to ask this question but I'm just trying to figure out if its possible.
I am currently running Ubuntu but plan to install Arch.
Currently, I have no DRI with my radeon x700.
I'm wondering if its possible at all or I should forget it for this card.

My x700 pcie works fine, with both xorg and ati driver.
So for I had to install the proprietary driver due to some flickering on the dvi port with the open source driver - the latest xorg driver (shipped with Fedora - not yet tried with arch) seems to have solved even this.

Thanks 1000%!
You don't know how long I've been trying hard to get confirmation that the 3D on this card works for somebody.
I know its supposed to be supported but DRI doesn't work in ubuntu.
If you see this, do you mind posting your xorg.conf (or the relevant sections)?

I also have a x700 and it works like a charm, with xorg and ati drivers.
Persistence, persistence, persistence!
