Kernel Upgrade and NVIDIA drifver lost

Dear All,
recently I updated the system, together with the kernel.

unluckly I lost NVIDIA driver configuration.
I tryes to follow again this guide,
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/How … DIA_driver
but still it does not work.

if I put vesa driver the system is back to work,
obviously without graphic accelerator.

converselly if I launch startxafter invidia configuration the monitor blink a little,
and then I see only the coursor on the top left corner of the monitor,
but I cannot interact with the system in any way.

I had a few problems with my nVidia configuration as well, but not this bad.  Although, nvclock doesn't work for me anymore.

Which nvidia card does your computer use?

by the way I found that I can change terminal with alt +F*
if I go back in the terminal where I launched startx
I have back the shell, and I have the following error.

Fatal server Error:
Caught signal 11. server aborting

waiting for X server to begin accepting connections

giving up
xinit: connection reset by peer (errno 104): unable to connect to X server
xinit: no such process (errno 3): Server error.

Post us your xorg.0.log and xorg.log located in /var/logs/ in order to see what the problems are.
I had to add several lines to my xorg.conf in order to get 640x480 and 800x600 modes to work. (For some reason it refused to recognize the default refresh rate for those modes and set it to something my monitor does not support => I couldn't play StarCraft.)

Take a look in /var/cache/pacman/pkg
If you have not explicitly cleared your cache (by running pacman -Sc or pacman -Scc) you will have the older corresponding packages. Then, simply downgrade by navigating to /var/cache/pacman/pkg (or you may simply provide the complete path) and do

pacman -U nvidiaolderversion

Remember that in addition to nvidia and nvidia-utils, Arch64 requires one more package, lib32-nvidia-utils, you will see 3 nvidia packages to be downgraded, unlike i686 which only requires 2.
If downgrading the nvidia packages does not work, you may also have to downgrade kernels, but I think it should work between minor releases.
Someone correct me if I am wrong; I don't use Arch64
