Banshee 1 on Arch x64_86.

Hi, looks like the Arch devs only released Banshee for i686. I tried to compile it myself, but just end up with configuration errors.. Has anyone here installed Banshee 1 on 64-bit?

It's a dependency problem I have..

Re: Banshee 1 on Arch x64_86.

Did it for fun just now.  The i686 Banshee 1 PKGBUILD works on x86_64 but there's a small amount of dependency heck to sort out first.  Banshee 1 needs ipod-sharp 0.8.0 but the current x86_64 package is 0.6.3.  The ipod-sharp 0.8.0 PKGBUILD that's in the i686 package svn works on x86_64 but it needs podsleuth installed to build.  There's no x86_64 package for podsleuth but again the PKGBUILD in the i686 package svn does the job.

Re: Banshee 1 on Arch x64_86.

People who set MAKEFLAGS=-j2 or something similar in makepkg.conf should overwrite this in the PKGBUILDs with -j1 or make will complain about missing stuff.

Re: Banshee 1 on Arch x64_86.

I don't own an Ipod, so I compiled Banshee 1.0 on my x86_64 system with Ipod support turned off.  To do this, edit this line in PKGBUILD

LD_PRELOAD="" ./configure --prefix=/usr \
        --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var \
    --disable-helix --disable-ipod --enable-njb --disable-docs \
    --with-gstreamer-0-10 --disable-static || return 1

it is set to --enable-ipod by default.  This compiled great and works great, just doesn't have Ipod support.

Re: Banshee 1 on Arch x64_86.

I need it for iPod, but I manager to install ipod-sharp now.

Could anyone tell me how I can fetch the i686 Banshee built? Pacman/yaourt only shows the x64_86 repos.

Thanks for your help:)

Re: Banshee 1 on Arch x64_86.

Thanks, that's what I needed. Alright, I built ipod-sharp-svn with yaourt earlier, yet it's a missing dependency:

What's gnome-sharp anyway? I can't find it in the repos..
