what happen to mlocate

days ago I updated my system and today I was in the CLI and tried to find a file with "locate" command but I realize that this command doesn't exists in my system, so, I made a "pacman -Qs mlocate" but it wasn't installed. What happend here? Why an update remove my mlocate from my installation?

Re: what happen to mlocate

Try grep locate /var/log/pacman.log

pacman roulette : pacman -S $(pacman -Slq | LANG=C sort -R | head -n $((RANDOM % 10)))

Re: what happen to mlocate

the only thing I saw in pacman.log is that slocate was removed, I think this was 'cause mlocate will substitute slocate but I think if I had installed slocate, then I upgrade my system, mlocate must substitute slocate automatically, don't you think?

Re: what happen to mlocate

Actually, these days slocate is just an alias for locate/mlocate.

[root@galahad sonata]# pacman -S slocate
Warning: mlocate provides slocate
