Hiya Folks,
as i had to find out the hard way this morning, the recent upgrade of xf86-video-ati breaks X on Rage128-based graphics cards as the r128-driver was moved out to its own package. As there isn't a xf86-video-r128 package in extra yet, i managed to fix the missing driver by modifying the original xf86-video-ati PKGBUILD. Works here right now, but could use some cleanup in the dependencies-corner as the Tarball does not contain information on dependencies, so i just kept them the way they were in xf86-video-ati PKGBUILD.
Apparently, there are two ways of configuring the driver in xorg.conf: either keep xf86-video-ati and change the driver entry to
Section "Device"
...
Driver "ati"
...
EndSectionand use xf86-video-ati as wrapper, or keep the driver entry at
Section "Device"
...
Driver "r128"
...
EndSectionand ditch xf86-video-ati, using xf86-video-r128 only
Beware: tested only on ppc Architecture!! Will add other architectures on report...
Et voilá:

Florian
