Attempt to launch kmymoney failed - it could not find libofx.so.3. Fair enough, that library had been replaced by libofx.so.4.
The quick and dirty solution would be to make a symlink libofx.so.3 pointing at libofx.so.4. Any reason NOT to do that?
The .PKGINFO tells that kmymoney depends on libofx, so the error seems to be caused by the package source code. Shoould .PKGINFO instead specify dependance on libofx.so.3, or should I just send a message to the creator/maintainer of kmymoney asking him to change HIS library request?

Send a message to kmymoney's maintainer. Meanwhile you can rebuild kmymoney with ABS to fix that.

I don't think this is a problem
I have only so.4:
12:11:03 papio@baboon:~$ locate libofx.so
/usr/lib/libofx.so
/usr/lib/libofx.so.4
/usr/lib/libofx.so.4.0.0

I have created a symbolic link like you already suggested and it worked just fine for me. At least good work-around until the pkg has been upgraded.
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 345346 21. Jun 17:45 /usr/lib/libofx.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 21. Jun 17:45 /usr/lib/libofx.so -> libofx.so.4.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 22. Jun 10:49 /usr/lib/libofx.so.3 -> libofx.so.4.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 21. Jun 17:45 /usr/lib/libofx.so.4 -> libofx.so.4.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 250133 21. Jun 17:45 /usr/lib/libofx.so.4.0.0Offline
Yuck, creating symbolic links is bad... You can create more problems that you solve doing this.
Better to follow Snowman's advice and rebuild the package using ABS/makepkg. Also, file a bug report in the community section of the bug tracker. That way the maintainer of the package know to rebuild it.

Thx for the advise. Wasn't aware the issue can also get resolved by rebuilding the app.
