Can't Clone Git Repo

I'm tryin' to create a git repo here...

So I go create the repo on my server, and add the initial files to it, but when I try and clone it on my computer, I get the following error: warning: remote HEAD refers to nonexistent ref, unable to checkout.

any ideas?

Re: Can't Clone Git Repo

You need to add and commit your files.

Re: Can't Clone Git Repo

I have. I run 'git add <file>' and then 'git commit -a'

that's all that's needed right?

Re: Can't Clone Git Repo

Yeah that /should/ do it... unless maybe you're using http for the clone, in which case you need to set the post-update hook to executable and run git update-server-info at least once.
