[SOLVED] Default Programs

Hello,

How do I setup the default programs?  Example - set VLC Player to play *.mp3 files.  I'm using Arch64 with Gnome.

Thanks.

Alternately, depending what kind of file you want to control... right click a file -> Properties -> Open With -> Add

Re: [SOLVED] Default Programs

MIME types determine this behavior. When you install a full DE like Gnome, it will add a lot of its own MIME types for files like videos, images, etc. You can usually make your own adjustments by just right-clicking a file, but I suppose it would be feasible to dig through the actual MIME configuration files. I know little about this, though I'm sure Google would pull up stuff you need.
