Framebuffer changing resolution?

Hello everyeryone smile

Since I am pretty much new to linux, and installed arch this weekend for my first time, i have some questions.

If i got it right, framebuffer is the part of boot process in console where i can see arch logo at the top, and it goes until X loads?
In case i got that right, i'm wondering if it is normal for the framebuffer to change resolution in the process of booting by itself?
in /boot/grub/menu.lst in kernel line i added vga=792 for 1024x768 resolution
during the booting this logo is first shown, but then disappears and the resolution gets a kind of 'streched' feel, and then a second or two later it again changes back to 1024x768 resolution but without the arch logo at the top

i like everything to be neat and in order, so this annoys me but i dont know if it is supposed to be like that or can i change it somehow so i have 1024 resolution all the way?

thanks
