Problem with rlog & encfs

Hi

after last upgrade I can't use encfs anymore.
I'm getting this

encfs: error while loading shared libraries: librlog.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

updating rlog didn't help.

Re: Problem with rlog & encfs

Contact encfs's maintainer. It needs to be rebuilt against latest rlog.

Re: Problem with rlog & encfs

Using rlog 1.4-2 and encfs 1.4.2-1 here. Works without problems. Are you using the community version of encfs?

Re: Problem with rlog & encfs

but the new version must be very fresh.
Till 2 days ago ro so only 1.4.1.1-1 was available.
Must try the new one later.

Re: Problem with rlog & encfs

rlog-1.4-2 is in community but I can't find encfs anywhere, including unsupported.  Did it get deleted by the maintainer?

Re: Problem with rlog & encfs

I had the same problem as the OP with the newest rlog update. Fixed it with:

ln -s /usr/lib/librlog.so.5.0.0 /usr/lib/librlog.so.1

Unforunately, encfs seems to be missing from the repositories.

Edit: Well, I spoke too soon.  The link got rid of the error, but now encfs just seg faults.

Re: Problem with rlog & encfs

Hi all,

Can I second the "where has encfs gone?" question, please?  I'm an Arch newbie trying to get in it installed but I can't find it in any of the repositories.

Many thanks,

Tom

Re: Problem with rlog & encfs

I just tried running encfs a few minutes ago and I got the same error message as the OP. I tried reinstalling but pacman says:

error: 'encfs': not found in sync db

And I had just run pacman -Syu too.

Looking around at the Archlinux home page this caught my eye:

http://archlinux.org/news/393/

Follow this link on that page: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR_CleanUp_Day

And it looks like encfs is in the "Remove from Filesystem" section of that Wiki page.

I just synced abs too and it looks like it's still in /var/abs/community but the PKGBUILD is gone.

$ ls /var/abs/community/system/encfs/
ChangeLog  encfs-memcpy.patch

Re: Problem with rlog & encfs

I really needed to get encfs up and running so I built my own from the latest sources. You can get the source package here:

http://abing.gotdns.com/AUR/encfs-1.4.2-1.src.tar.gz

These new versions require the Boost C++ libraries. So install the boost package before running makepkg. Then do:

$ mkdir encfs
$ tar xzf /path/to/encfs-1.4.2-1.src.tar.gz
$ makepkg
