Triple core - Only one recognized by arch

Hi everyone,

I need some help with a major problem I'm having.

Just purchased a new pc with an amd phenom triple-core. On boot, I get an error message that says: "CPU #1 not responding. Cannot use it."

The output of cat /proc/cpuinfo is this:

processor : 0
vendor_id : AuthenticAMD

model : 2

bogomips : 4194.29

and the output of uname -a is this:

Linux myhost 2.6.25-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Jun 14 18:07:19 CEST 2008 i686 AMD Phenom(tm) 8400 Triple-Core Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

There doesn't seem to have much info on the web about my particular hardware on linux so I am at a loss here. Does anyone have a clue as to how I could go about using all of my hardware?

By the way, same problem on Ubuntu, but windows sees all three cores just fine.

Thanks a lot for your time!

Vincent

Re: Triple core - Only one recognized by arch

Fixed by installing a 64 distro...

Re: Triple core - Only one recognized by arch

This thread comes up on google and I saw a reference to it on another forum so here is an update:

All three cores are now recognized, even in arch 686

I assume that the main difference is the new kernel.
