I've tried to install courier-imap on a slicehost account. It's a virtual private server running Arch x86_64, and it, naturally, uses the 64-bit repos. Now, I checked the package search on archlinux.org and courier-imap is definitely listed in [extra].
Has anyone had similar problems on slicehost?

Have you tried a different mirror and/or browsing the mirror directly and wgetting the package. I can't imagine a link between pacman not finding a package and the host its installed on.

Tried different mirrors, but to no avail. All courier-* packages are missing (the ones from [extra]). I'll have to fetch the packages manually, I guess, since courier-imap won't build with ABS.

"pacman -Syy" will sync the databases again.
Also, check your pacman.conf has extra enabled (it has happened before...).

It is in "man pacman".
-y, --refresh
Download a fresh copy of the master package list from the server(s)
defined in pacman.conf(5). This should typically be used each time
you use --sysupgrade or -u. Passing two --refresh or -y flags will
force a refresh of all package lists even if they are thought to be
up to date.Offline
