Access my Mac OS X partition.....

Hi,

I have archlinux installed on my macbook pro, when booted into archlinux it auto mounts my Mac OS X partition on the desktop (gnome). Now when i try to access my music on this partition it says "access denied" any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Re: Access my Mac OS X partition.....

Hi,
a good idea is to sync the UID and GID of your user in both systems. The best way to do this, is to set up a new user in Arch with the UID/GID of your OS X user and migrate the homefolder of your "old" user.
Do not "just change" the UID/GID of any user (neither in OS X nor in Linux)!

I've done it that way on my Macbook, and so far I haven't encountered any permission- or ownership-drama when writing files from Linux to the OS X parition.

Best regards
