Problem opening files in Gnome

I don't know when I try to open a file, i.e. an acrobat reader file it prompts whether i want to execute that file. I think gnome "thinks" that it's an executable file, and I can see a txt icon instead an acrobat icon in the Nautilus browser. Any help would be appreciated. I've updated my arch linux x686 but I don't know if it's an issue about gnome-open that it's not working or what else.

Thanks for your time

Regards
