snd_hda_intel and laggy sound

Hi,
I've been trying to solve this problem since a long time: When I play a .wav file (pidgin) this seems to be cutted at his beginning.
I wondering if it could be related to the power-save options in the kernel like CONFIG_SND_HDA_POWER_SAVE and CONFIG_SND_HDA_POWER_SAVE_DEFAULT.
I tried to do

# echo N > /sys/module/snd_hda_intel/parameters/power_save_controller

but it didn't the trick.
I have this issue in both my eeepc and intel p35 pc.
Hope that someone can help me.
