July 2008 Screenshots

Posting Guidelines

· DO NOT post full resolution screenshots!  You can use the "mogrify" command (pacman -S imagemagick) to make a thumbnail of your screenshot:

$ cp screenie.png thumb-screenie.png
$ mogrify -resize 20% thumb-screenie.png

Twenty percent of the original size is great for 1024x768 screenies.  You can then upload these images to your server and use the following code to show them on the forum:

This displays the thumbnail as a link to the screenie like this:

thumb-screenie.png

· Several websites also offer free image hosting, of these ImageShack is very popular and does a neat auto thumbnail:

2005053109197fv.th.png

Use the "Thumbnail for forums" link code that is supplied by ImageShack to post your thumbnail link.

· Once the new month begins please do not post new screenies in the old threads.

· If the screenshot has questionable material that might not be safe to view while at work or in a school setting, please post only a link and not a thumbnail, along with a mention of "Not Safe for Work". Posts that do not adhere to this are subject to deletion without notice at any time.

· Please try to include any links to your wallpaper or configs that you may have and/or the names of your icon theme, running apps, DE, etc. in the same post to reduce unnecessary clutter later.

Re: July 2008 Screenshots

Nothing much has really changed with mine besides the wallpaper and icons.

2008-07-01-003701_204x153_scrot-thu.png

You can pretty much figure out all the programs by looking at the titles. Um, the icon theme is Gion and doing a Google of the wallpaper names will lead you right to them. The Openbox theme is "Arch Blue" with a few color changes and the GTK theme is "Elegant Cold Blue".

Look at that cpu usage... oh yeah. cool

Edit; Forgot obligatory "first".

As the weather gets hotter and hotter around where I live, I figured it would be best to have a cold, refreshing desktop ;-)

It's the 8270 set of winamp skins by Grayhouse @deviantart - link. If you're using xmms, you'll have to unzip the wsz file(s) into the xmms skins directory.

@Abelian: I would be really interested in seeing your StumpWM configs, it looks wicked! big_smile

Funny....Stumpwm + Emacs (zenburn theme) + Conkeror = my setup - just the stumpwm-modeline looks a bit different (matching zenburn modeline) big_smile

Re: July 2008 Screenshots

finally im almost finished with configuring my .awesomerc.lua file smile

july879.png.xs.jpg

only thing i cant figure out is how to have another font in one of my statusbars (more precisely "nu" in the top statusbar),
and how to make a keybind to toggle hide/show for one of the statusbars.

if anyone can answer those questions i would be very happy indeed smile

Re: July 2008 Screenshots

Nice setup man. And nice pekwm theme, only thing is fonts don't look the same on my computer, I'll change them around to use it when I get bored of my current setup.

Thanks goes out to Thayer for the nice wallpaper.

Other than that, not much change.

And then it happened... a door opened to a world... rushing through the phone line like heroin through an addict's veins, an electronic pulse is sent out, a refuge from the day-to-day incompetencies is sought... a board is found.
