Re: July 2008 Screenshots

Thanks smile

Fonts are Dina (they're in [community], I think).  I don't use a custom ~/.fonts.conf, I have the "-lcd" versions of libxft and cairo (and fontconfig-lcd) installed.  Terminal is urxvt.  Colors in ~/.Xdefaults are like this:

*foreground: #8f8f8f
*background: #1e1e1e
*color0: rgb:1e/1e/1e
*color1: rgb:98/56/5e
*color2: rgb:66/82/5d
*color3: rgb:96/91/76
*color4: rgb:4d/65/85
*color5: rgb:96/73/95
*color6: rgb:5f/7f/7b
*color7: rgb:e0/e0/e0
*color8: rgb:73/73/73
*color9: rgb:cf/a3/a9
*color10: rgb:ca/f7/bb
*color11: rgb:ff/f8/bc
*color12: rgb:83/a3/be
*color13: rgb:bb/a9/cf

Re: July 2008 Screenshots

My main desktop:

screeny_small295.png

WM: Openbox
Theme: Modified version of arch.blue by dimaka
Gtk Theme: Mire v2 Pink by thrynk/asuraci
Wallpaper: Modified version of Red Wave by miniman
Bmpanel: Modified version of Dusk by thrynk

The clock is conky. I'm running Exaile, Obconf, Gimp, my first project with FAH, and pidgin.

My second desktop:

screeny_small674.png

I'm using all of the same themes for this box, but of course all of the colors are changed to green. I like the contrast between them, since these two boxes reside next to each other. I'm also running irssi, firefox, gimp, and a few other things on this box.

What window manager is that ? FVWM ? E17 ?

I would guess it's FVWM, could you build a panel like that with anything else ?

It's just xfce4 with compiz fusion. The pypanel itself is pretty simple but I've used screenlets and conky to build around and blend in with the panel.

It's AvantGarde LT Medium, one of my favorite fonts smile

You can get it here, it's mainly only found bundled with themes/etc (found here with miranda theme site,)

LXDE with Openbox and Tint.

GTK Theme: Elegant-Blue
Openbox theme: Elegant Mine
Fonts: Dejavu Sans
Wallpaper from interfacelift.com.

I haven't yet found a system tray that doesn't look ugly, esp. when using pixmap GTK themes... Any suggestions?

(I would be using pypanel, except I can't make it sit on the bottom layer like tint does.)

What do you mean sits on the bottom layer? You want windows to be placed over it?

edit: have you tried stalonetray? I would use it, but I cant find a good place for it in xmonad :\

Yeah that's what I mean... I've tried stalonetray, but it gives tray icons a background pixmap when transparent, has an ugly border in dockapp mode, and has problems with its crappy pseudotransparency. I can't wait for Tint to get a systray...

Thank you.
The icon theme is Oxygen Refit Red Version, and can be found at Gnome-look, the dock is nothing more than AWN.
