I just noticed that Arch Linux finished syncing in on the Vietnam BSD/Linux Mirror here in Saigon. We did a full mirror. URIs are below:
- ftp://ftp.indochinalinux.com/archlinux/
- ftp://202.78.230.5/archlinux (IP address is recommended due to frequent DNS problems within Vietnam)
Lets try to spread Arch Linux in Vietnam and around Southeast Asia! ![]()

Thanks
Make a bugs.archlinux.org entry for the mirror to be added to the official ones and also pacman mirrorlist
There shouldn't be any reason to learn more editor types than emacs or vi -- mg (1)
[You learn that sarcasm does not often work well in international forums. That is why we avoid it. -- ewaller (arch linux forum moderator)

I am a bit biased, I like to promote the distro I happen to use at the time. I can't believe I used Arch for a month now, this one is a keeper ![]()

I got fed up with Gentoo. Everytime I got my system running, damn, new libraries that needed to recompile, revdep-rebuild, arghh! I have actually been distro hopping for the longest time and finally came to Arch one month ago. I am not sure why I never tried it 3 years ago. Would have saved me a lot of headaches.

I agree, I am thinking about getting Arch installed on my T60 Thinkpad now too. I tried Sabayon 3.5 last night on it but was not impressed.

Great, time to see if this is faster than aussie pacnet. And if it is, I'll uhh...send you a few pegs of Singapore Sling..somehow..someday ![]()
I need real, proper pen and paper for this.

Unfortunately, within Vietnam, the bandwidth is actually slower than using the main Arch mirror. Those outside of Vietnam should be able to get higher bandwidth. We expect the bandwidth to get higher in the future.
Let me know. It is just one little poor server handling the load for Arch, Linux Mint, PC-BSD, DesktopBSD and OpenSUSE.

Wow, looks like all of Asia may be trying to sync with the Arch mirror here. Does anybody know how we can keep other servers from rsyncing with our mirror? We actually have a bandwidth limit for the mirror imposed by the ISP.

Is you mirror accessable from outside Vietnam? My mirror check bot cannot connect to it since 31 hours (it tests every hour).

I will email the guy maintaining it. I cannot access it from my house. Looks like the routing was changed again. This is quite common here unfortunately.
