Hi,
I've been using notification plugins for Pidgin and claws-mail which both use libnotify. The thing is that popups are shown in right-bottom corner, even thou I have my panel (xfce4-panel) at top. The question is "Is it possible to change the popup position?" Those plugins do not enable such a setting. I'm using Openbox with xfce4-panel.
Any idea?
Peace,
matchil

Sure. Which notification daemon are you using? I'm assuming it's either notification-daemon or notification-daemon-xfce since those are the two available in the arch repos.
If it's notification-daemon, this is controlled by gconf and you'll need to use gconf-editor to change it. The key is /apps/notification-daemon/popup_location.
If it's the xfce one, it's controlled by a setting in the xfce-mcs. Icon looks kinda like radio with waves coming out of it, or something.

Try running "xfce-settings-show" and it should let you configure the notification-daemon (if you're using the xfce variant, that is). The gnome notification-daemon can be configured using gconf-editor, I think.

Cheers!

The solution from 2008 has been renamed under the modern version of the software and is xfce4-notifyd-config.
Rationale for the necrobump: this is the #2 hit to the google search 'configure libnotify', a modern solution should be reflected for users finding it. Note that at the time I post this, xfce4-notifyd is version 0.2.2.
