fontconfig and fontconfig-lcd[SOLVED]

I just tried a pacman -Syu
and here is what I got

:: Synchronizing package databases...
 core is up to date
 extra is up to date
 community is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
:: Replace flashplugin-beta with extra/flashplugin? [Y/n] n
warning: iproute: local (070710-1) is newer than core (2.6.24_rc7-1)
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
:: fontconfig conflicts with fontconfig-lcd. Remove fontconfig-lcd? [Y/n] n
error: unresolvable package conflicts detected
error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)
:: fontconfig: conflicts with fontconfig-lcd

Has fontconfig-lcd been replaced? Am I living in the past? Or did someone forget to update the package?

I think you can answer yes to the question "Remove fontconfig-lcd?"
See http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=51367
for other details.

Re: fontconfig and fontconfig-lcd[SOLVED]

Me and someone els had an issue with saying yes to replace fontconfig-lcd with fontconfig. Something to do with pango effecting gtk apps. I havn't had time to verify the pango issue, but will find out in the morning.

Re: fontconfig and fontconfig-lcd[SOLVED]

Well I replaced fontconfig, and everything looks fine to me.

I also updated the wiki to reflect that there is no longer a need for fontconfig-lcd.

You still need the additional config file. The new fontconfig-lcd package only add that file.
