[Solved] Nautilus not previewing JPG's

This one is a head scratcher.

When I try to open a JPG file by double clicking on it. It opens the window "Do you want to Run "img_0520.jpg" or Display it's contents." yikes

When I view the folder as a list it shows JPG files as a "Plain text document" the same goes for AVI, PDF,MP3, BZ2, ZIP, RAR and many other file types... Well... actually ALL file types.

When I try to open any document it asks if I would like to run or display. Display only results in gedit opening up and taking forever to display 2MB of textual data.

I can right click the files and say "open with..." but I would rather not do this as you can possibly imagine tongue

As it is being detected as a plain text it shows the thumbnail as such, and shows textual data from the file like TXT files do. However for JPG's once I open them in GIMP do show the picture thumbnail properly.

Thank you __/|\__ brilliant.

Deleted mime.cache, restarted X for good measure, and VIOLA previews galore.
