Hi,
I recently came back to arch and so far its been a smooth ride.
I have come across some problems though. One of them is that the icons don't show up correctly. In pcmanfm, the folder icons don't even show up. Also, univerislly there is just an 'file' with an red x instead. See the screenshot for a better look. There are the x's in the bottom left, in pcman fm, and in rhythmbox. I haven't bothered to check anywhere else. Also, the folder icons dont display in pcmanfm.
Anyone know what causes this? I do have a icon theme installed.

Do you have a .gtkrc-2.0 file for pcmanfm? If not it needs to contain
gtk-icon-theme-name="gnome"
or whatever the theme name is called. What theme are you using and is it in /usr/share/icons?

Install one of the icon themes on http://www.gnome-look.org/.

Can someone tell me if I can get the same small system info bar as displayed at top of his screenshot (with CPU/Mem/Network info) into XFCE? Is this a program or a plug-in??
Cheers!

Excellent! Thank you! :] I assume conky works with xfce4? Will look into it anyway... looks really neat!

I spent a bit of time reading up about it and designed up my own wee conky. Love it!
Thanks for enlightening me to it's existence!

Sorry, I've basically hijacked this thread as well... has this problem been solved yet?? Mark as [SOLVED]?

Nah the problem isn't solved, I got the same problem, and I've specified icons I want to use in my gtkrc, and they're also in /usr/share/icons. Tried with both pcmanfm and thunar.

Does the problem occur with all icon packs? Or only specific ones?
