Base Install Style Distro?

Are there any other Linux distributions such as Arch with the ability to install a very base line system and build up from their.  I know of Gentoo and doing a Debian net install...  Any others?

Slackware, Crux, and there's another, IIRC. All the BSD's do too, but you did specify Linux.

- My AUR packages.
- I use i3 on my i7.

Re: Base Install Style Distro?

yup you just need to grab de alternative install cd from ubuntu or the normal debian cd and choose the expert mode for more control over the installation (after its installed use aptitude - it simply rocks)

but actually I think that you can do this with almost any distribution...
