problems with dbus and hal

I have a problem with hal and dbus, when I start hal  get:

bash-3.2# /etc/rc.d/hal start
:: Starting D-BUS system messagebus [BUSY] Failed to start message bus: Error in file /etc/dbus-1/system.d/newprinternotification.conf, line 1, column 0: no element found

                                                                    [FAIL]
:: Starting Hardware Abstraction Layer [BUSY]

the newprinternotification.conf file is empty and I don't know what it represents... any ideas?

Re: problems with dbus and hal

If I'm correct, HAL starts DBUS automatically, so you don't need to have DBUS in your MODULES array in /etc/rc.conf.

Re: problems with dbus and hal

newprinternotification.conf is associated with the system-config-printer tool, from what I have been reading on the Internet.  I would use the CUPS web interface instead of system-config-printer to manage printers.

pacman -R system-config-printer --nosave
