Very disappointed with constant updates

My Arch was working for me very well last fall I need the Aug 07 core disk with the Aug 07 core packages because floppy won't install and some other things that are messed up I'm at a point where I'm not even using Arch right now and I really need to get moving on video game development with open gl.

krazybastid - if you want to get help, please describe specific problems you are experiencing in as much detail as you can. If all you want is the 2007.08 "Don't Panic" ISO, you should really change the topic of this thread.

And finally - if you truly are "Very disappointed with constant updates", perhaps you should consider using a distro with a regular release schedule. Arch is a rolling release distro, therefore there are constant updates.

Re: Very disappointed with constant updates

But I like Pacman it's the best Fedora sux Ubuntu is too regimented If I could port pacman over to Fedora I would but why should I go with out floppy and things that are just beyond me right now. I mean there needs to be more OS's with pacman but not an OS that constantly updates and stuff gets broken.

What's the deal with floppy? Honestly I still don't understand what we're talking about. Is it an inside joke?

Re: Very disappointed with constant updates

Ok I guess floppy doesn't matter that much I just want it working on my computer as if I were using windows. But still things are just getting broken. I'm just obsessed with getting everything working.

Perhaps you'd like to share your problems then, in order for them to be resolved? Or is that asking too much.

Was this thread another pointless rant (of which we seem to have many these days in the forums) or a plea for help? If the former, then good for you. If the latter (which I doubt), no one can help you if you don't give any information.

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Re: Very disappointed with constant updates

wget ftp://ubuntu.iso

Hmm well at first this was just a joke, but actually it is perfect. Not quite as constant updates and it just works out of the box. I would recommend this for you!

Re: Very disappointed with constant updates

If you like pacman but want regular releases, you should try http://frugalware.org/
It seems to meet both requirements.

But then again, what's the point of having a point?

I'm going to go ahead and lock this, since there seems to be no specific issue here. The OP has had some opportunities to explain the issue(s), but has not done so. Thread closed.
