lxde defaulting to 1280x768, should be 1280x1024

I've just installed lxde on a new arch install and even though my xorg is set to goto 1280x1024@24bit lxde starts up at 1280x768. Then when I change the resolution to 1280x1024 via monitor settings the wallpaper gets tiled at 1280x768 instead of being stretched as it is set. Any ideas?

Which program did you use to change the screen-resolution?
Did you try to change your xorg.conf?

Inside the Desktopsettings (right-click on the desktop), at the background-options, there is an option called "Stil" in german. Is it set to fullscreen?

As I said in xorg.conf the default resolution in 1280x1024@24bit but lxde starts at 1280x768@24bit. There isn't even a 1280x768 setting in my xorg.conf.

In desktop settings the wallpaper is set as stretch to fill entire screen but it tiles itself at 1280x768.

Maybe you could tell pcmanfm not to control the desktop and only load Openbox, and have something like feh or nitrogen set the background, and find out if the resolution changes. Just to see..

I stopped pcmanfm from controlling the desktop and had no background image set but on the restart lxde still started up at 1280x768. Can anybody else think of what is causing this?

I'm still having this issue and I have tried rewriting my xorg.conf to include the modelines for my monitor as well as several other things but no matter what I change there lxde still starts up at either 1280x768 or 1152x768. I can't even ask at lxde.org as the site seems dead.

open source ATi, and it doesn't happen on any other DE, just lxde.
