Magicjack is provided by a USB device purchased like any other USB device and can be registered under windows xp to provide VOIP at a yearly cost of $20.  It runs in the computer via magicjack programs.  It connects a regular phone to the internet via the magicjack USB device.

The application is not yet available on Linux(inventor says it is planned) and last statements by the inventor were made in April concerning Linux interface.

It works well in windows and probably will do better in Linux due to the slowness of windows apps in many installations.

If it's not yet available for linux, it's hardly possible to create an Arch package for it.
