Aha! I was using yaourt. When I ran pacman, it gave me the deets:
firefox-adblock-plus: requires firefox=3.0
I flagged firefox-adblock-plus as out of date and posted a comment.
Sorry for any troubles 
When this happens again in the future I'll run straight pacman to get the details.
