I installed KDE4.1 from the svn packages and I love it. I have a few simple questions though.
1. I have a custom firefox installation and I dragged the "firefox" script onto the quicklaunch at the bottom of the screen but its icon is a shell script. How do I give it an icon?
2. When I have konsole and firefox open and I switch to konsole, firefox minimizes... Is this supposed to happen? Only happening with konsole right now.
3. I start kde 4 using kdm. I don't want a display manger. Is there a way to start it from .xinitrc?
4. How do I make my gtk apps look like KDE 4 apps or at least look like normal gtk apps instead of windows 95 in kde4.1?

1. right click the script icon and select "icon settings". In the settings window, click on the icon, and you can select a new one.
2. Doesn't sound like it. This does not happen for me.
3. Yes, the startkde program, in your /kdedirectory/bin. For me it's /opt/kdemod/bin/startkde
4. Try to find a gtk-qt-engine for your kde version. If this fails, you can install switch2 or gtk-chtheme to make your gtk apps look better.

Oh well, simple enough, I just made a desktop file.

I need real, proper pen and paper for this.
