KDE4.1 Not Saving Some Changes

I tried this several times, but it's not working:

I made a .desktop file for my firefox 3 executable (downloaded from the mozilla site). I then drag it onto my taskbar and add it, however, when I logout and log back in, it's not there anymore. Any idea how to fix this problem?
