specto, checks for website updates.
There is an old version of specto in the AUR. I woud like to request a more updated verision. the source code can be found here
PS: can this be added to pacman packages? This seems like a usefull program to have in the packages.
EDIT: i also found this person python script that will do the same

Dude, i just send the pkgbuild in the last 10 minutes. I'm working in that since yesterday. . . The release is for the bazaar branch (because the 0.2.2 version have some bug that will only be corrected in 0.3 version [maybe]). I adopted the svn version too, but is deprecated, so, dont use specto-svn, uses specto-bzr.
