Need advice on upgrade procedure - Radeon 9550 to Radeon HD 3650

I've purchased a new HIS Radeon HD 3650 AGP video card to replace an aging Radeon 9550 (and to breathe a few more moments of life into an otherwise maxed-out Socket 939 board), and I could use some advice on the best way to go about upgrading my Arch video subsystem.

Right now, I'm using the xf86-video-ati package, installed via Pacman.  My xorg.conf file is set up to use the radeon driver.  This won't work with the new card, so I'm planning on switching to the xf86-video-radeonhd package and the radeonhd driver.

Now, what I *think* I need to do is the following:

1. pacman -Rs xf86-video-ati
2. pacman -Sy xf86-video-radeonhd
3. edit xorg.conf and change the "radeon" driver to "radeonhd"
4. shutdown and swap cards
5. power on, cross fingers, submit burnt offerings during boot, etc.

Is this the proper way of going about the exchange?  If not, what is the proper order?

Thanks!

(Note: snarkisms about "switch to Nvidia instead" or "should've saved for a new PCI-E system" will be redirected to the attention of my wife, who will use our checkbook as a blunt instrument in whatever assault may follow. tongue )
