X not working after system upgrade

I finally got pacman -Syu run and then when I rebooted I cannot get anything I get booted to vc1 with the following problems:
FATAL: module nvidia not found
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to load the NVIDIA kernel module
(EE) NVIDIA (0): aborting
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a useable configuration
Fatal server error: no screens found
waiting for Xserver to begin accepting connections
giving up
xinit: connection reset by peer (errno 104): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): server error.
INIT: ID "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes.
every 5 minutes the screen flashes about 30 times and then goes back to the above text again.
Do I restart from rebuilding X, Rebuilding nvidia or what?

Re: X not working after system upgrade

As a first step, I would make sure nvidia was in fact loaded (lsmod |grep -i nvidia). If not, modprobe it and try X again. If that doesn't work, remove the package with pacman -Rs nvidia and then reinstall it. if *that* doesn't work, see if there is any more info in the Xorg.0.log.
