Hi all.
I've looked everywhere and can't find a reference to this problem in Arch.
OpenOffice 2.4 is up and running perfectly except I can't access the help topics.
The help directory (/opt/openoffice/help/en) is fully populated with the english help files, but pressing F1 or accessing help through the menus results in an error: "The help file for this topic is not installed."
It shouldn't make a difference, but I am using xmonad as my window manager.
thanks,
d

make sure your system is up to date (pacman -Syu) and you have a java-runtime installed.

Check, and check. Update is run daily and the full JRE/JDK suite is installed.
When I get a few minutes I'll try a full wipe and reinstall of OOo and see if that makes a difference.
Thanks for the replies.

I have exactly the same problem. I thought it was due due to this (stupid) policy of arch to remove docs (although the devs say it will shortly be changed) but apparently the help files are there. I have found no solution (other to install openoffice and to download the official one from www.openoffice.org; which I hesitate to do) -:(
