when I go to System -> Administration -> Login window, it asks for password and after i type it in, nothing happens. I read some people had problem with it, but it anyway started after 1-5 minutes of waitin. So I waited for way more than 5 minutes, but still nothing happens >.<
The computer is 2 months old, so that (slowness) shouldn't be causing the problem. 2,6ghz core2duo, 4gb ram, 8800gt
thank you

Try to run "gdmsetup" in the terminal as root, or with sudo if you use that instead, and see what's the output.

If you use sudo, try to set sudo as the authentication method (System > Preferences > Privilege Granting).
Also, I think you haven't generated your locale. Check here for an howto.

Sounds like you need to set your locale: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Configuring_locales.

I've been googling your error, and one of the solutions was to try to reinstall gdm, even though I'm not so optimistic about it.
