I am trying now for the third time to install X on an AMD64 machine that rar Arch well til now.
When trying to install X it quits the download with "file xorg-fonts-100dpi-1.0.1-1.pkg.tar.gz is corrupted (bad MD5 checksum)" and refuses to complete the X install (ATI card with standard driver).
Any idea?

Either change your mirror or grab a copy from somewhere else with wget like:

what command are you using to install X?
post your the output of
cat /etc/pacman.conf
did you run
pacman -Sy
pacman -Syy
First one sync database, will d/l newest packages, the second is same thing except it forces the update.

Changing mirrors did the trick.NLUUG mirror (from where I ftp-installed) seems to have problems. How do you let them know?

You're in Belgium? Use Belnet. I'm in the States and it's one of my backup mirrors.

Belnet is seems to be in an updating process of their hardware, so it is not the prime choice for the moment.
