Hullo there.!
My net connection is a bit fugged up, disconnecting and reconnecting itself every 10 minutes or so.This is really annoying when downloading large packages through pacman as pacman doesn't make any efforts to resume the interrupted downloaded when the connection is regained, unlike apt-get.So, I have to use ^C to stop pacman when net disconnects and then again run pacman -S <package> to resume download when connection is regained
Any way to make pacman resume broken downloads by itself rather than me having to do it.?
P.S: A noobish query, but how do I use the rankmirrors script.? ![]()

There probably is a way - the best way to have it considered for inclusion is to post a feature request in the bugtracker. If you can provide a patch for it, that would be even better. However, there is no guarantee that the pacman developers will agree with you.

Download resume has always worked fine for me with pacman.
libdownload handles that, and wget too if you use it thought XferCommand option.
And even makepkg has that feature now for resuming source download, with the 3.2 release (in testing now, and should be in core next week).
But that wasn't the question.
pacman roulette : pacman -S $(pacman -Slq | LANG=C sort -R | head -n $((RANDOM % 10)))

Could you try another mirror?

Again, does this happen with all mirrors you tried?
