I'm not sure what i might have done, but root won't open gedit.
I get this error:
[root@ken-arch kdrumm]# gedit
(gedit:23140): libgnomevfs-WARNING **: Unable to create ~/.gnome2 directory: No such file or directory
Could not create per-user gnome configuration directory `/home/root/.gnome2/': No such file or directory
any ideas on where to look?
I do have a /home/me/.gnome2 folder
thanks
KD

You're using a root account. Root probably doesn't have a .gnome2 folder in /home/root folder

After creating a /home/root/.gnome2 directory it works.
Guess my next question is I don't remember ever seeing a /home/root dir. before. If I had one where did it go? I don't delete things randomly.
Why would gedit and nautilus not just use /home/me/.gnome2?
