Archlinux? I'm taking my hat...

and this Hat was a Fedora...

Hi, my name is orion, i'm 21 and i live near Hamburg, Germany. I'm on Archlinux for nearly a month, and it sucks so much. Pacman works, I don't have to fix riddiculous bugs that cause a damaged package database... And Bleeding edge don't sucks? What is this? Can't you Archlinux guys make a distribution which provides prehistorical packages like debian or ubuntu? Can't you guys make a distribution that destroys itself on update?

No, without kidding: Arch & me = love at first sight smile Fedora was a good distribution, but had some really annoying "bugs" and i got annoyed of "Beginner Distros" which had activated a lot of stuff by default that i never need. The Arch Way, in my opinion, is the way a distribution should be made. I tried a lot of Distributions, all "big" distros, and got stuck at Fedora before i discovered arch.

The only thing i didn't got to work was my laptop wlan (intel wireless 2200BG) with network manager (i'm roaming a lot) but this should not be a problem at all, because the only reason i don't made it, that my harddrive got broken. wink

I hope there aren't much grammar mistakes wink

edit: Oh i don't want to bash debian or ubuntu, that was just kidding... (but i don't like the debian way at all, but that is a question of taste)

Welcome to the awesomeness that is Arch. Fair weather and skies should keep our flight smooth and on perfect time. In the event of turbulance, note that you should've checked your pacman output. smile

My first thought was the brilliant MetallicA instrumental.

RIP Cliff
